Data-deletion requests

Use this page to manage request records and track the work required by your own data-handling process.

Before you start

Only authorized staff should handle these requests. Understand which systems hold the requester's data and follow your organization's verification and retention procedures.

Step by step

  1. Open the app's Deletion Requests, or the cross-app Data Deletion view.
  2. Confirm the app, requester and request status privately.
  3. Verify the request through your authorized process before taking any action on user data.
  4. Carry out the required work in the relevant systems. Check connected services and backups according to your own documented process.
  5. Record completion evidence internally, without exposing personal data in a public ticket.
  6. Mark the request processed only when the corresponding work is complete. Use cancelled only when that accurately reflects the request's disposition.
  7. Confirm the saved status and processing time on the intended record.

Important distinction

The current status control updates the request's status and timestamp. It does not itself erase the user's records across your app or connected providers. Deleting the request record is also not the same as completing data erasure.

Confirm it worked

The request status matches verified work in the relevant systems. Do not tell a user their data was deleted based only on a dashboard status change.

Troubleshooting

If a request is missing, check app scope and filters. Keep evidence and required records under your organization's policy; do not delete a request just to clear the queue.
