Privacy Policy for Receiptly
Last Updated: August 24, 2026
1. Introduction
Receiptly ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
2. Information We Collect
2.1. Personal Information
We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide, such as:
- Account Information: Email address (if you sign up/login via Firebase Auth).
- User Content: Images of receipts you upload or scan.
- Android Notification Content (optional): If you explicitly enable Automatic Receipt and grant Android notification access, Receiptly accesses notification titles and text, including while the app is closed, to identify likely expense and income transactions. Non-financial notifications are discarded immediately. Matching notification text is held in private, device-only storage for no more than seven days and is deleted after processing or when you turn the feature off.
2.2. Automated Information
- Usage Data: We may collect anonymous usage data (e.g., screens visited, buttons clicked) to improve our app.
- Device Information: Device model, OS version, and unique device identifiers (for advertising).
3. How We Use Your Information
- To Provide Service: analyzing receipt images using configured AI processing services and processing opted-in Android financial notification text locally on your device to create transactions. Android notification text is never sent to Receiptly or an AI service and is not used for advertising.
- To Sync Data: storing your data securely in the cloud (Firebase Firestore/Storage) if you are a Premium user.
- To Show Ads: displaying advertisements via Google AdMob (for free tier users).
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase: For authentication, database, and storage. Firebase Privacy Policy
- Google Generative AI (Gemini): For processing receipt images. Images are processed and not used to train public models without consent.
- Receiptly AI processing service: Used for user-initiated receipt image, voice, and paste features. Android notification-listener content is excluded and is processed only on the device.
- Google AdMob: To display ads. AdMob may use device identifiers to show personalized ads. AdMob Privacy Policy
5. Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Android notification content waiting to be processed is excluded from Android cloud backup and device transfer. Disabling Automatic Receipt deletes queued notification text immediately.
6. Children's Privacy
Receiptly is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
